Please read our terms and conditions. We cannot stress enough, the importance of reading this prior to submitting your order. We do not make any changes to orders once an order is submitted. Subtle Essence is a small business and incorrectly placed orders can take an enormous amount of time to correct and drastically reduce our ability to effectively and efficiently create our products. We create and ship orders daily and as a small business, we cannot absorb the costs of lost/replaced uninsured packages, a free for all program, reshipping, and customer mistakes.

Payment Policy

We use Pay Pal to process all payments. A fee of $35 will be charged for any returned check.  MD residents please add 6% state tax. Shipping and handling cost will be automatically calculated upon placing each order.

Privacy Policy

Your Privacy is our priority.  Your information is held strictly confidential and will never be sold or distributed to anyone, for any reason.

Return Policy

Subtle Essence is committed to providing outstanding products.  We do not accept return products due to health and hygiene purposes.  If you are unsure about a product, you may purchase samples to ensure our products suit your needs. All sales are final. We do not accept returned products, offer exchanges or refunds.  If you have doubts, we strongly encourage you to purchase samples.

Shipping Policy

Subtle Essence processes order upon receipt.  We package all order carefully to ensure the product is protected.  We cannot assume liability for packages once they leave our site. If your package is lost or becomes damaged in transit, then you must file a claim with the UPS/Local Post Office. We do not accept damaged packages or process refunds for damages made while in transit.  When filing claims, it’s wise to save the contents, packaging and receipts for postal inspections.

If you submit an order that later becomes unclaimed due to a customer error, i.e. incorrect mailing address, it will be returned to us.  The charges will remain and we would be more than happy to re-ship the package, however, you will have to absorb the expenses incurred.

We cannot ship to PO Boxes and currently only ship to the USA.

If you live in or around the Washington Metropolitan area, and would like to pick up your products, please e-mail or call us to arrange a convenient time.

BATH TEA: We use standard tea bags to package our bath tea. To avoid un-dissolved ingredients [from a punctured bath tea bag] from going down the drain with your bath water, insert the bath tea into a nylon. You may also steep the tea in a bowl of hot water, then transferring the water to the tub.  This prevents any un-dissolved ingredients from going down the drain. Dispose of used bath tea bags in a trash receptacle. Do not flush down toilet or drain!

All Scrubs contain an oil. Please exercise extreme caution when using scrubs in the shower, as surface can become slippery.

Although our soaps are all natural, if contact is made with eyese, irritation can occur. If this does happen, flush with water immediately to alleviate condistions.  If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

Shelf Life of our Products

Subtle Essence uses natural ingredients, including natural preservatives.  We do not create our products in large volumes.  In most cases, they are made the day the order is generated. With that said, please be advised they have a limited shelf life. You are encouraged to refrigerate unused portions to help extend the shelf life; otherwise you should discard products after 1 year. There may be some visible signs of changes to your products due to heat and cold. If this occurs, refrigerate the product briefly and stir.  It will not impact the effectiveness of the product.  We encourage you to shake or stir before each use.

The products and information we provide are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure and prevent disease. The information we share is done so for educational purposes only and are not intended to replace any medical advice, or prescriptions you receive from a physician.  If you have a persistent medical/skin condition, please see a physician.

If you are allergic to any of our ingredients, do not use the products.

When using products containing oil in the shower, please use caution when exiting your bath, as it will be slippery. Avoid contact with eyes.

Always perform a skin test when using new skin care products to ensure you don’t develop allergic reactions.  A skin test is achieved by applying the product to the skin on the inside of the upper arm. If you develop a reaction to a product results will appear within 24 hours of application. If a reaction does occur, do not continue to use this product. If/When using our products on children, it is up to you, the adult, to perform skin tests and oversee the usage of the products.

Discontinue use if any sign of irritation or rash appear.  Keep all products away from children and pets. As with any natural product, they can be toxic or fatal if misused. Subtle Essence is not responsible in any way for the misuse of this or any other product. It is solely the responsibility of the purchaser to know and understand what they are buying and how to use & properly handle the product. Many of our ingredients are food quality, however, the finished products is not consumable and should never be taken internally. Our products have not been FDA Approved.

Upon receipt of your package, please dispose of all packaging material appropriately. Shrink wrap, peanuts and bubble wrap can be harmful to children and can suffocate. Keep these things out of reach of children and pets.
